protocols. Each Coach at Performance U is required to read
the latest sports science journals weekly, attend our monthly
in-house educational program, and attend at least 1 national
conference each year. We also believe in sharing this knowledge
with out clients by offering similar educational programs throughout

Does the program fit you or does your program fit your
trainer?
With the vast amount of fitness options out there, Pilates,
yoga, bodybuilding, kickboxing, etc. It’s not surprising that
there are specialists in specific aspects of fitness. We feel

looking at your individual needs. You just become another

8. Assessments
Is your trainer assessing or guessing?
What’s tight? What’s weak? Where do you need to
go from a professional standpoint? The foundation of any
good program is a proper assessment. This is truly what makes
the program unique to your specific needs. A doctor wouldn’t
give you a prescription without first assessing and looking at
your symptoms. Exercise is like a drug, given in the right doses,
in the right manner can yield amazing results. However, given
in the wrong dosage can quickly ruin your body and even be fatal. This
is why proper assessment is essential to any well designed program
and why we feel so strongly about assessing our clients from
the start. From the minute our clients walk through the
doors we are looking to help meet their goals safely, efficiently
and effectively. Each client will receive a thouro Functional
movement Screen that can last up to 1.5hrs depending on the individual.

movement ability, potential for injury and muscle imbalances
as well as other important factors related to performance. The
assessment will lay the foundation for us to design the most
effective program to meet your needs. We use the very same assessments
utilized by the NFL, MLB and NHL.
9. Phases and Progressions
Are you getting stronger? Are your workouts progressing?
Any idiot can make you sweat; only a skilled coach can
make you better! With our system it’s impossible to fail! As
your body becomes stronger and your fitness level increases we
provide phases and progressions of each exercise and each program. We
believe in setting personal records each session. Each
session will demand more from your body and it will help get
you to the next level. This gradual phase/progression process
ensures positive change and guarantees increases in strength

Who needs ‘em?
We are all familiar with those machines in the
gym – but do they really work for you? Not in the way that

Machines are inferior to other forms of training. Many

have got news for them; your trainer should be the most important
part of the workout, not the equipment. If you were to
